Dr Sumina Azam, Consultant in Public Health, Policy and International Health, WHO Collaborating Centre on Investment for Health & Well-being, Public Health Wales
Sumina is the policy lead in the Policy and International Health, WHO Collaborating Centre on Investment for Health & Well-being, where she has worked since 2015. Prior to her current role, she was a consultant in the Powys local public health team for three years. Sumina worked in general medicine before undergoing public health training in the East Midlands, where she undertook projects at a local and regional level.

Sumina currently leads three teams: Policy; the Wales Health Impact Assessment Support Unit; and the Health and Sustainability Hub. Sumina’s portfolio includes supporting the Welsh public health response to Brexit, for example through research, working with partner organisations and through work on a Health Impact Assessment on the public health implications of Brexit in Wales.
